Southwest

If you go to Las Vegas, you really should take a side trip or two and check out the nearby scenery. If you’re from the Midwest or another relatively flat, farm or tree land, you will be astonished by the burning colors of the bare rocks!

A quick escape from casino world was an excellent tour with the Pink Jeep company where I was lucky enough to sit in the front seat. Our guide was actually a rock scientist who reminded me of my cousin Frank and did a great job of  showing us around. A few questions and lots of extra stories flowed! It was too hot for a couple of people who pretty much melted – the sun is brutal – but it’s gorgeous! Go there!

This mug has a triple view of a shot from en route to the Valley of Fire. More to come soon!

New Southwest Binders!

October 20, 2009

There have to be so many uses for these customizable binders! Look for a lot of new ones featuring images from the Southwest USA going forward. Photo visits to Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico will all provide keepsake images. Here’s a few of the first ones.

Petroglyphs binder Look closely to see petroglyphs etched on the rock walls of this dwelling in Agua Fria. When you go to Sedona, Arizona, take a Pink Jeep tour to get a wonderful history and tour plus a great jeep ride!
Petroglyphs by Woodswalker

The blue Arizona sky is reflected in this bit of still water near the river in Sedona. Natural and synethic oils can create the beautiful swirls of color seen. Likely these are what they call “swamp oil.” Next time you see puddles of water in the woods, look closely to see if you notice any!

Open this binder to see the image stretch across the entire width. This is the beautiful Verde River that flows through Sedona. I had no idea such beautiful water existed in Arizona!
