“An early morning walk is a blessing . . .” woodland trail poster

August 10, 2010

Henry David Thoreau said, “An early morning walk is a blessing the whole day.” That inspiring quote decorates this beautiful autumnal woods poster from Zazzle‘s Woodswalker.

Actually, the original photograph was taken on an afternoon walk! The woodland path is through the famed Hartwick Pines State Park in northern Michigan. It contains the last stand of virgin white pine trees in the lower peninsula as well as an interpretive center with lumberjack cabin replicas. You should stop by if you have a chance – it’s right off I-75 on the way “up north.”

As the older pines fall to lightning or age, the understory is becoming populated with gazillions (I counted!) of maples. That’s why there is so much color to this image.

This poster was sized for 36×24″ proportions, but you can change the size and paper as you like.

Enjoy your walks through the woods!
