Who dat?

February 12, 2010

I never heard of Who dat? until it became a topic for t-shirt and other designers whether they could use the phrase themselves or whether its use was limited to the NFL. Happily, designers CAN use the phrase which belongs to the people of Louisiana, as long as they don’t infringe on the NFL copyrights. Sounds fair to me.

That means more fun Who dat? shirts on Zazzle after last night’s wonderful win by the Saints. I even watched most of the game myself. Surprise, huh? It turned out to be the most watched show in television history. Maybe I wouldn’t have watched it if I’d known it would be such a mainstream activity! But we ordered the new kind of Dominos pizza (surprising different from all those midnight pizzas I devoured in college! – it was pretty darn good!) and I can never leave a good pizza.

If you’re looking to wear some fun Saints Superbowl Championship shirts, you need to go to an official NFL licensed retailer. (I think.)

Edit (3/26/10): I think there is confusion about who owns what in terms of the copyright  for Who Dat?, so I have removed the merchandise that was featured here.

It was a great Superbowl, though, wasn’t it? :)
