Anemones

May 14, 2009

Oh, the beautiful wind flowers!
Anemones are also called wind flowers – isn’t that pretty? So many flowers have goofy names!
The little Rue Anemones are blooming in the woods near me (I’m just above the 42nd parallel), but my favorite are these Meadow Anemones. They grow on my property up north, a beautiful pure white against their own bright green leaves, blowing about above the poison ivy. With all that poison ivy, I may not ever get a macro shot of these flowers!
I have no idea how to get that poison ivy oil off my hiking boots and away from my camera stuff. Clothes, yeah, I just throw them in the wash. I’d like to know the reason behind poison ivy, I really would!
Here’s the postage stamp to match the cards!
